Marci McGuinness (It's my magazine, so I do most of the writing!) I have been writing since I was 6 years old starting with a story I called "The Battle Between the Red Ants and the Black Ants." In 3rd grade I wrote a Halloween poem called "The Witch & I." I was asked by my teacher, Mrs' Swink, to read it in front of the class. I acted it out. Since then I have written and published 20 books, several magazines and hundreds of stories and articles. My twin daughters write for Around Ohiopyle, also. Meet them...
Brynn Cunningham
Tara Cunningham
Brynn & Tara graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania a couple of years ago. Both stayed on the Dean's List every semester. Tara graduated in 4 years (THANK YOU, TARA!) with a 3.75 average. She is a very determined and talented girl who majored in Fashion Design and Merchandising with a minor in Business. She has spent the last 2 years in Clayton , Georgia, managing the outdoor shop and guiding river trips for Southeastern Expeditions and will soon move to Athens, Georgia to continue her career in Fashion Merchandising. They both spent their sophomore year at the Cal Poly University just east of Los Angeles on a National Student Exchange.
Brynn graduated in 5 years due to her adding so many minors I lost rack! Her major was Journalism with a minor in Spanish. This minor was changed to Child Development and something I can not recall. She was President of the Public Relations club and worked very hard to turn the club into a credited course. She worked for the Y.M.C.A.'s Camp Kern in Ohio as a Leadership Facilitator and is spending this summer with Tara on the Chatooga River as photographer. She will head to I.U.P. in August 2008 to pursue her graduate degree in Student Affairs, working on an assistantship at Carnegie Melon in the Study Abroad Department. She studied in Italy and Mexico, also.
Tara is writing about outdoor clothing and Brynn, about health issues. I am a very proud parent, as is their father, A.J. Cunningham.
Their Jack Russell Terrier, Mugsy, lives with Tara full time. His is a pistol!
